Uncover the Essentials of RevOps Data Quality: Elevate Your Game with Openprise

Got data quality issues? Our Data Essentials solution is here to help

One hill that our team is willing to die on here at Openprise is that nearly every revenue operations (RevOps) problem is a RevOps data quality problem.

Do you struggle with high-quality data? Fear not. We’re here to help you sort it out.

In our recent data quality blog series, our VP of customer success unpacked how common marketing, sales, and RevOps challenges are actually data quality issues in disguise.

Here are just a few data quality issues that could be masquerading as RevOps challenges in your database (and what to do about it). . .

Each of these pain points (and many more) can be traced back to an underlying issue with your data quality.

Sales and marketing misalignment? Check your attribution and funnel automation. Leaky funnel? You need more accurate intent data. Inaccurate forecasting? Your CRM might need a deep clean.

Think of Openprise as the Marie Kondo of data quality. But instead of bringing you a professional tidying expert to organize your home and transform your life, we’re delivering proven data quality solutions to help RevOps leaders clean, orchestrate, integrate, and automate their RevOps data quality — and transform business.

What are Openprise Data Essentials?

We believe in a holistic approach to RevOps data quality. If you’re looking to maximize the power of fancy automation and workflows, you need clean, consistent, high-quality data to work with first.

That’s why our Data Essentials solution is your foundation for a successful go-to-market strategy. These are the critical first steps we recommend to set yourself up for success on our platform.

We get it. You have marching orders from your management to automate lead assignments, enrich your leads, or even dedupe an entire CRM in an afternoon. But, before you automate or integrate any other systems, you must have a solid foundation of healthy data.

Think of it this way. You wouldn’t trick out an old car with all the bells and whistles if the engine were overheating and it needed an oil change. Your data works the same way.

Data Essentials are the processes

That’s why our Data Essentials solution is a necessary first step in achieving RevOps excellence.

Let’s break it down into three key processes.

Phase 1: Normalize and standardize your contact data

Typos, inconsistent capitalization, and other lead file “quirks” can create dirty data in your CRM.

That’s why phase one of our Data Essentials solution involves making sure that all data fields for leads follow a single, common convention.

This should be the first action you take before doing anything else. Trying to automate or segment data without standardized contact fields is almost impossible.

Pro tip: Lead standardization enables you to match records better when you proceed with other processes down the line such as:

  • Deduplication
  • Lead-to-account matching
  • Lead routing
Phase 2: Cleaning and standardizing data at the account level

This phase involves cleansing and standardizing data for accounts.

Examples of the account cleaning and standardization process include:

  • Replacing .con with .com
  • Correcting misspellings (did your SDR forget an s in Massachusetts?)
  • Full country name OR 2-letter ISO code
  • Full state name OR 2-letter abbreviations

Pro tip: Use the modified values to more effectively match data and give you better results for other processes, including higher match rates for lead-to-account matching data enrichment, and the ability to find duplicates quicker.

Phase 3: Segmenting data into useful categories

This phase allows you to categorize your data into custom segments specific to your organization. It also helps you get familiar with Openprise and its more advanced capabilities.

Pro Tip: Segment leads based on job title into function or level so that you can better target your marketing efforts.

Segmentation provides better data visualization and routing. Plus, it allows your marketing team to run targeted campaigns, which is critical for account-based marketing efforts.

Data Essentials is the foundation of healthy data

Our Data Essentials solution enables this 3-phased approach to set new customers up for success when beginning with Openprise.

By putting guardrails in place to ensure they’re working with solid data, RevOps leaders can be better prepared to solve more complex business needs and process-related issues later on.
